Chaparrastique (San Miguel) Volcano Epic Hiking
Chaparrastique or San Miguel Volcano is the second highest and most active volcano in El Salvador. With an altitude of 6990 feet, this giant is a stratovolcano with a perfect circumference of its crater. The last eruption was in 2013.
The hike to the top takes about 3 hours and another 3 hours to get down. The difficulty level is considered “EXTREME”. The terrain of the hike is slippery, steep, rocky, and sunny, that’s why we recommend staying hydrated all the way to the summit. We start our adventure in a small town called Chinameca.
Our departure time for this epic tour will be around 5:00 am from the city of San Salvador or Surf City (we offer good deals for groups of more than 5 people)
